Kindness, Investing and the Transaction of Helping

“It is more blessed to give than to receive”
  -Jesus

When we help people because “we don’t know who they’ll become tomorrow”, are we really showing genuine kindness? Or are we simply investing, hoping to be paid back someday?

When we choose to be friends with only those who add value to us, aren’t we merely transacting?

When we give, so as to curry favour and respect from the recipients, are we loving truly?

When we publicise our acts of kindness, haven’t we just robbed ourselves of an eternal reward?

Giving is an act of love. Love in its purest form. Hence, our motives ought to stay pure.

Have a splendid week.

Love,
Laura.
