Green Grass & a Content Heart

“Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth.”

‭‭- Paul (1 Timothy 6:6. NLT)

Contentment is happiness and satisfaction, often because you have everything you need. The key word there is NEED.

Though it has been said that human wants cannot be satiated, one simply needs to take an introspective look to see that quite a number of issues that breed envy, dissatisfaction and anxiety in us, come as a result of looking at what we have, through the lens of what others own.

Contentment in no way means a lack of ambition. It is controlled ambition. Contentment expresses a sense of confidence in the path that our heavenly Father has set for our lives and the faith in His provision to walk that path.

We only see the grass as greener on the other side because we keep peeking into the other side. We need to stop peeking over the fence and see how much beauty we have around us.

It takes a lot of courage and strength to be content. So, Don’t let anyone shame you for it. Besides, at the end of this life, we all have just one person to answer to: God.

Have a splendid week.

Love,
Laura
