King’s Kids and the Mess they Made

Long in a distant land (haha), there lives a great king. This king has a reputation of being so powerful, just and kind. He’s also mysterious and hardly ever makes appearances. However, he has a lot of children. Mostly adopted but no less his children. Every now and then, he adopts more children and invites them to come and live with him in his castle. Every child of his, is expected to act like him because they’re his family.

The citizens of the kingdom who are looking to get adopted, look up to the king’s children and are inspired. They look at how the children look and act in order to get a glimpse of the King’s person. However, there’s this son who has proven to be rascally. Who writes and lives his own rules. A little white lie here, a huge black lie there. It’s been said that whenever he gets confronted for doing something inconsistent with the character of his Father, his response always goes “I am a son of the King, I have his DNA, my father will never cast me out”.

This often confuses those who look up to him and are hoping to get adopted into the king’s family. “Isn’t there a code of conduct required from the king’s kids?”, they’d often wonder. There were also those who were inspired by this rogue prince. It gave them so much relief to think that they could be adopted into the royal family and still live by their own rules. Some others got offended at the King on account of his son’s behavior. Little did they know that this son was grossly misrepresenting his Father.

I implore you, if your Father is the King of kings, please don’t misrepresent Him. Don’t disgrace your family.

We’re Christ’s representatives. God uses us to persuade men and women to drop their differences and enter into God’s work of making things right between them. We’re speaking for Christ himself now: Become friends with God; he’s already a friend with you.
– Paul (2 Cor. 5:20 MSG)

Have a blessed week.

Love,
Laura.
