If you Love me…

How would you feel about a child who flaunts all your orders and instead of apologizing and turning away from his rebellion, begins to shower you with gifts?

How would you feel about a spouse who justifies consistent physical and emotional abuse with the fact that they give you money?

How about an employee who consistently comes late to work, insults your clients, antagonises coworkers, yet pledges undying loyalty to you and your brand?

When we serve dutifully in church, sow abundant seeds, keep religious ordinances but refuse to walk in a manner worthy of our Lord, do we expect that He’s pleased?

It seems like we’re apt to do every other thing but obey God and uphold his standards. He doesn’t like this.

“But Samuel replied, “What is more pleasing to the Lord: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams.”
‭‭- Samuel (1 Samuel‬ ‭15:22‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

“If you love me, obey my commandments.”
‭‭- Jesus (John‬ ‭14:15‬ ‭NLT)

Have a blessed week.

Love,
Laura
