THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS

One doesn’t need to live too long to realize that we as people, are not created to be content and happy. At least not for long.

Within us lies a gaping gully that consistently cries out to be filled. Hence we search. We search for meaning, for love, for fame, wealth, for more pleasures, more vices, et cetera.

And when we seem to have found that which we search for, we keep craving more. And more, and more. We’re never fully happy, never truly at rest, no, not for long.

That’s because these things never promised us rest. But I know someone who did. Jesus Christ did.

And when we’ve found Him, may we never get satisfied. May we ever crave more and more of Him.

“Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
‭‭- Jesus (Matthew‬ ‭11:28-30‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

Have a blessed week,

Love,
Laura.
