“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
– Paul (Romans 12:2 NLT)
Every class usually has those students who carry themselves with so much confidence and poise. They often are very well dressed, very fluent and well spoken, quite good looking even. The whole class holds them in such high esteem, most people want to be friends with them.
Oftentimes, when found sitting beside them in an exam, you begin to doubt yourself because you can see the way they’re writing. You’re certain they’re going to ace the test, because they’re writing with so much confidence. You begin to copy them, changing your own answers to theirs. Unfortunately, they’re writing some well-crafted rubbish and when the scripts are submitted, they’re going to fail woefully.
We, as a society need to be watchful of who we are copying. How else can we explain how decency is now prudish? How accepting all forms of sexual perversions shows that one is open minded, learned and ‘woke’? How rebellion is called courage? How disregard for family is becoming a norm? How atheism is mistaken for being highly intellectual and cerebral?
Let us remember that very soon, we’re going to submit our scripts. These scripts are going to be marked. May we not be found wanting because we copied someone else’s work.
Have a splendid week.
Love,
Laura.
